It’s a good idea to have spare tent pegs, especially if you are touring and don’t know in advance the type of ground each site will have. Some people don’t even bother with them but in high winds they really are essential.
You will need pegs to secure your guys to the ground so be sure to have the right ones for the site and for the size of your tent. If you will be camping on soft ground, such as a sandy beach the pegs need to be longer so that they hold firmly.
